Scott Weiland Accused of Lip Syncing
There was a report, by Rock Radio, that Scott Weiland was lip syncing during a concert. Scott tumbled off stage at an Ohio concert. What is with front men being unable to stay on the stage? Rock Radio opined:
"despite the tumble, his voice was heard to continue the song — he wasn't singing at the precise moment he fell, but when the moment came to resume he didn't sound short of breath, out of tune or in any way flustered."
Is this really all that hard to believe? He just fell off stage not ran a marathon. I have fallen off things before, catwalks, stripper poles, black cocks, and I am not really out of breath after falling from those heights. He is also a professional singer, so it isn't shocking he can find the proper key right away. The fall happens in the video below around the 1.30 mark. It does seem fishy that he is still able to sing, but Scott is a professional and if he has to sing UNDER the stage, he could do it.
Scott did reply to the accusation at a Pittsburgh show before the song Wicked Garden.
"I would like to dispel a rumor swilring its way around the Interwebs that I am not singing these songs that I wrote. There has never been a time in the 25-plus years that I have been singing with these guys or a combination of these guys or with other musicians that I have not sang. So whoever started that bullshit claim, like so many other bullshit claims, which is the problem with modern technology, and there are so many great things about it. But that it such a travesty. We are a rock and roll band, [and] rock and roll bands perform live."
Well I guess that settles that.
