Van Halen Recording New Album with David Lee Roth

A new deal between Warner/Chappell has ignited the rumors of a new Van Halen tour and album. The press release that announced the new deal said that Alex and Eddie Van Halen were "currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011."

This is welcomed news as I have wanted this since 1984. I will be buying this album no matter what. It could be Eddie playing only the synthesizer and the David Lee Roth soundboard while Alex farts on snare drums, and I would still buy it and laud it as a masterpiece. Actually, you can replace Alex Van Halen with a silverback gorilla farting on snare drums because they at least look the same. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

The Van Halen 2007 tour was amazing even with Wolfie on the bass. While I want Michael Anthony to take place in the tour, I don't need him because to me Van Halen is Diamond Dave and Eddie Van Halen. Yes, I lose the amazing background vocals of Anthony and the fast paced bass work, but the sperm of Eddie and the egg of Valerie Bertinelli is good enough for me.

The relationship between Eddie and Dave has always been a tumultuous one and if it can survive a 74 show tour and an album recording, well maybe it is on somewhat solid ground in a flood plain.
