You go on vacation and you lose track of time, space, and the real world. It is the perfect way to lose yourself in your own thoughts. I was able to shut the world out as I relaxed in the middle of a corn field in Iowa.

The problem is you return and realize all you missed in the world of music - like....well actually nothing really went on over the past week. I think the only musically related piece of news is that Steven Tyler's Brand Tyler can be summed up as "American Idol judge."

Before heading into a concert afterparty at Studio 54, Tyler reportedly said his future plans include "recording an album and [I'm] probably going to be judge on 'American Idol'."

If you are keeping track of this show, the rats are jumping off this sinking ship. They added Ellen Degeneres this season and that didn't really work out. Ellen left. Some sexy song writer named Kara was another judge and her contract wasn't renewed. The only judge worth a damn, Simon Cowell, left the show to bring his show X Factor to America. The only judge left on this show is Randy Jackson and he is riding the gravy train for as long as he can. What else is he going to do?

Why would Steven Tyler associate with this show? What will he bring to the show other than giant lips, an even bigger ego, and a lot of makeup?

The ratings for this show have been steadily declining and the subsequent tours haven't been doing that great either. Let's just call this show dead and move on, huh? I have mocked up what the judges panel would look like with Tyler on there.
