Muse Cover U2 with The Edge at Glastonbury Festival
U2 was forced to cancel their performance at the Glastonbury Festival
over the weekend because Bono had back surgery. In honor of this, The
Edge decided to cover Where The Streets Have No Name with Muse.
It is a close version of U2's version, however, it is missing something....oh yea Bono. Matt Bellamy's voice was ok for the song, but a bit more dramatic and operatic than Bono. I didn't like the vocals and wished Bono was singing it.
I also want my cover songs to take a giant risk, make the song yours in a way, but I guess when you have the guitarist who helped write the music for it sitting in with your band, you can't be too liberal. Anyway, it's a good version.
