Megadeth Sets Release for Rust in Peace Live with David Ellefson
As reported a while ago, long time Megadeth bassist, David Ellefson, has reunited with Dave Mustaine. On March 31, 2010 at the Hollywood Palladium, Megadeth played Rust in Peace in its entirety with David Ellefson on bass.
The concert was filmed for a DVD/Blu Ray release and will be coming out on September 7, 2010. The DVD features the following setlist:
Rest In Peace Live:
Holy Wars...The Punishment Due
Hangar 18
Take No Prisoners
Five Magics
Poison Was The Cure
Lucretia
Tornado Of Souls
Dawn Patrol
Rust In Peace...
Polaris
Bonus Content:
Skin O’ My Teeth (Countdown To Extinction)
In My Darkest Hour (So Far, So Good…So What!)
She-Wolf (Cryptic Writings)
Trust (Cryptic Writings)
Symphony Of Destruction (Countdown To Extinction)
Peace Sells (Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?)
Holy Wars – Reprise (Rust In Peace)
I wanted to see Megadeth with the triumphant return of Ellefson, but they didn't play near me. Rust is Peace is my favorite Megadeth album next to Peace Sells. Some concert DVDs are so well done they can make you feel like you were there (See U2's concert DVDs). I have high hopes for this DVD and hope it will deliver and not fail.
Who am I kidding? I love Dave Mustaine and would watch anything he is in. I admit, I sat through the entire Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster, just for the Dave Mustaine sightings.

Waiting for the DVD to be released. My favorite Megadeth work is United Abominations
