I enjoy writing on this blog. I wish I had more time to write on this blog. When I do hear about the latest music news by the time get around to writing a post, its already old news. With that being sad I am starting a new segment called Venting With Lars. basically I will be venting about music. What I like, what I don't like, what pisses me off, and state of rock music and rock radio. I hope you enjoy this new segment and please post comments.

Now that I got that out of the way........

First I would like talk about something that pissed me off the other day. As I was on my way home from work, I was listening to the radio hoping to hear some good rock music because I had a long day. The area I live in we get three major rock stations. They are 93.3 WMMR, 94.1 WYSP, 102.9 WMGK. WMMR plays pretty much everything, but tends to lean more towards the newer rock. WYSP plays what they call "the rock you grew up with," which covers music from the 70's to the mid 90's.  WMGK plays strictly classic rock. I am partial to WMMR.

On this particular day I was tuning into WMMR's Afternoon 12 pk. It is 12 songs in a row with no commercials. Now here is the part that pissed me off. WMMR does these promos that are like "93.3 WMMR.....MMR ROCKS NOW!!!" At that point you would expect something that rocks. Instead I got this curveball thrown at me. They Played Dave Mathews Band, Crash into Me.

I don't want to take anything away DMB. They are very talented, I just don't like them. But really pisses me off even more that we are living in a world that this type of music is classified as rock and is played on the same stations as Metallica, Van Halen, ACDC. Where does DMB fit in with this? If radio stations insist on playing this type of music on "rock" stations don't stick a promo in front of it that indicates that the next song rocks. Because Dave Mathews Band does not rock. What kind of world do we live in that DMB is classified as rock?

I have seen them in concert and they were one not impressive at all and two. DMB concerts are filled with high school girls getting drunk. That usually leads to underage girls giving men in their 20's blowjobs in the parking lot. (Editors Note: We here at Blogs N' Roses fully endorse blowjobs by drunk, slutty underage girls. They are still impressionable enough to believe that a rusty trombone is just par for the course.)

In closing, If you are going to advertise yourself as a rock station play ROCK MUSIC, NOT SHITTY MUSIC. Thanking you for letting me vent. Until next time.........
