Steel Panther Feel the Steel Album Review

We ran up and down with Steel Panther a while ago. They were just a Hollywood 80's cover band back then. We were blown away by their insane performance, unbelievable playing ability, and selling power. No review I can muster up will be able to live up to the greatness of this album, but I am going to try.

First of all, Justin Hawking from The Darkness (one of my favorite bands) makes a surprise appearance on Party All Day (Fuck All Nite). I can't tell you how great it is hearing his sultry vocals in combination with Michael Starr's David Lee Roth fucks Steve Perry while licking the shaft of Bon Jovi.

The band rips off every one of your favorite 80's bands, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Extreme while combining hyper sexual lyrics and hilarious phrasings. If you are a fan of high glam combined with gutter sleazy and hard-on inducing lyrics...you are going to LOVE this album.

This album with Satchel's ripping solos on Turn Out the Lights, Styx Zadina's Tommy Lee like drumming, and Lexxy's....well Lexxy is just the pretty face of the band on bass. Either way, the band is bringing the 80's back while adding the funniest lyrics created in a long time.

Think of the Darkness meets raunchy lyrics. Steel Panther's Feel the Steel is a high contender of album of the year and certainly the soundtrack to shitting, fucking, working, watching TV, driving, arresting hookers, whatever you want. You won't be able to get these raunchy songs out of your head. In fact, I was singing "Eatin' ain't cheatin, fuckin' ain't sucking" and was fired from my day job as an alter boy.

The only song I am not a fan of is Stripper Girl. I think it really takes away from the rest of the album. Sure the lyrics are fun, but the music isn't the best. But that song doesn't detract from the rest of the album, which is utterly fantastic. It will no doubt be the best album released this year in our eyes.

If you are on the West Coast, you might be lucky enough to catch the band live. If you are on the East Coast, well you don't have much of a choice. Listen to the album and imagine how awesome they must be live.

Check out the band's MySpace for tour dates. You can buy the album on iTunes here. Hell, if you are really bored, you can read our interview with the band here.

Listening to Steel Panther is like the 70's Rocker “Hair Bands” on SNL. They are bringing back the real ROCK 'N ROLL feel to their music and adding their own comedic twist…and it sounds great! Their lyrics are really are something everyone can laugh about. If you like metal and/or comedy you should really get this album!
