Blogs N' Roses Top EP's of 2008

We get sent more EP's than your mom goes through tampons on her heavy flow days. Just because a band isn't signed to a major label shouldn't disqualify them from a year end Best of list. Some band just don't have the money to put out a great full length album. That is why we created our Top EP of 2008 list.

This list is very exclusive because of the amount of EP's we receive in any given year. The EP does not have to be released in 2008 only sent to us in 2008. Some bands have been promoting the same EP for over a year now and shouldn't be punished for that. This list is close to our hearts because we pride ourselves on helping expose unsigned or unheard of acts.

08. Jealousy Curve - This is For Your Own Destruction

Mix U2 with Queens of the Stone Age and shake vigorously. Add a pinch of Philadelphia attitude and set afire. That is what you get when you listen to Jealousy Curve's This is For Your Own Destruction. A great combination of hard rock, fantastic rock vocals, great rhythm, and excellent song writing. This Is For Your Own Destruction is a solid EP and you can get it free here

07. The Dirty Pearls - Volume One

You knew this list was going to contain these guys. We love the band and their music. Volume One is a fantastic collection of bluesy rock songs in the theme of the New York Dolls meets Guns N' Roses. Volume One contains anthems like Sucker for a Sequel and pop hits like Hollywood La La La. Album can be purchased through iTunes and the band can be viewed here.

06. Sinners Saints - Under the Influence

Another bluesy rock band from Philadelphia that is less polished than The Dirty Pearls and we like it that way. These guys will screw your girlfriend in the dirty bathroom stall and send her back to you with a dirty mouth and a changed outlook on life. If you like southern blues with loud guitars and a sense of urgency, you need this EP. You can get the album here and check out the band here.

03. The Tressels - The Tressels EP

Psychedelic blues rock that makes you want to drink a beer and dance. A breath of fresh air in the world of rock with hooks that get stuck in your head for days. You will be singing the lyrics to your significant other during sex. Guitar work that is simple, riff driven, and essential to each song. I couldn't find a picture of this EP on their website, so I settled for this Monkees inspired picture. Album can be purchased through iTunes and the band can be checked out here.
