Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees for 2009
It is now that time of the year when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees are announced. We here at Blogs N' Roses have waiting approximately a week to post this because we are.....lazy. Unfortunately, there is no excuse. This past weekend was Bob Wettner's bachelor party, and we just didn't have time to worry about the Hall of Fame.
In order to be eligible to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, an artist must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. That means that all of the artists mentioned above must have released their album in 1983 or prior. Social Distortion and Megadeth also debuted in 1983 but neither made the list. Bon Jovi and the Red Hot Chili Peppers also came out. I guess this means that Metallica should feel extra honored to be nominated. We wish all of the bands luck and we are sure that the acts passed up this year will get their turn in the future. Hopefully a Metallica nomination will open the doors for more metal acts in the future.
