Bruce Springsteen to electrify the Super Bowl

Once again, the NFL is doing whatever they can to avoid another "Tittie-Gate".  Step one was to not hire Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake.  Step two was to hire a male rock star that definitely doesn't intend to show any skin.  Step three is to sit back and watch.  Between U2, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones and Prince, we have had many big acts during the Super Bowl halftime.  2009 promises to be more of the same, with Bruce Springsteen committed to play a mini set for the world to see.

The Super Bowl will be played Feb. 1 at Raymond James Stadium. Last year's halftime show was watched by more  than 148 million viewers in the U.S., the NFL said in a statement. It wasn't always that way: For years, the game's halftime show was made up of local= and college marching bands and drill teams. In 1988, Chubby Checker was the first popular musician to perform at halftime, and Michael Jackson upped the ante in 1993. His sister Janet provided the show's most infamous moment with 2004's breast-baring "wardrobe malfunction"  and the show has stuck with straight ahead rock acts ever since.

We here at Blogs N' Roses hope that the Boss plays Jungleland so we can make use of the following picture a few more times:
