Ten Reasons the 2000's Suck Musically

05. Evanescence

Success: Album Fallen spent 43 weeks on the Billboard Top 10 chart, sold more than 6.6 million records. The album was listed for 104 weeks on the Billboard top 200, and it was one of eight albums in the history of the chart to spend at least a year on the Billboard Top 50.

Sucks: Gimmick band with the same clean, polished guitar, haunting piano (an effort to appear to classical), oh and that dreaded rapping. The only difference is the band is fronted by an egomanical, estrogen charged, bitch. She has fired everyone in the band at least once and now only performs with hired guns.

Example:

04. Breaking Benjamin

Success: Album Saturate reached number 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in 2002.

Sucks: Follows a similar formula to Smile Empty Soul, Trapt, Three Days Grace. Harsh sounding frontman makes your ears beg for harmony. That is when the band pulls you in with the harmonizing hook. Clean sterile guitars, no chops, no edge, no character, no good.

Example:

03. Hinder

Success: Album Extreme Behavior went Platinum selling over 2 million units with Lips of an Angel reaching # 1 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2006.

Sucks: Sometimes other people put this more eloquently than you can. All Music Guide said this about the band: "Hinder are so egregiously dull they appeal not to fans of music, but fans of high fives." The epitome of "Frat Rock." You can put Lips of an Angel on the Bose Sound Dock and "totally tag team that drunk chick passed out on the couch."

Example:

02. Three Days Grace

Success: sold 1.5 million copies of Three Days Grace in 2003. Reached number 69 of Billboard Top 200. New album On-X reached number 5 and looks like it will sell over 1.5 million.

Sucks: Same formula, scratching vocal style, lending into melodic chorus and harmonies. Songwriting is weak. No distinct sound or feel.

Example:

01. Nickelback

Success: First album Silver Side Up sold 10 million records worldwide and went to #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Since then they have sold over 25 million albums and watered rock and pop music down.

Sucks: Because they have only one song.
