Submitting Your Music to Blogs N' Roses
At Blogs N' Roses we are dedicated to bringing our readers the best unsigned or unheard of rock music. Is that you?
We receive a lot of music submissions, but only about 10% of them make it to the site. It isn't that your music is crap, it might not be something our readers are interested in hearing. I can assure you, we listen to everything submitted, so your music is not going unheard. There are blogs and websites out there that will review your music and help you build a stronger fanbase. Be diligent, you will find them.
If you still think you got what it takes to be a Blogs N' Roses artist, here are the following ways we can accept your music:
Snail Mail:
Snail mail is a good solid way of getting us your record, especially if you fancy yourself an "artist." If you care about album art, liner notes, and the whole package involved in music cd's, then by all means send us your record via the Postal Service. If you require this method, send us a request through BnRaddress[at]blogsnroses.com.
Sonic Bids:
Sonic Bids is an online tool for bands to create an electronic press kit and send it to reviewers. This provides us with your music, photos you approve, and a bio you have created. It helps us figure out who you are and the pictures allow us to write a more robust review of your music. You can find out more information through www.sonicbids.com.
MP3 Download
Some bands host their album privately on a hidden spot located on their website. If that is you, send us the hidden link where we can download the album. If you are not at that level yet, you can send us your MP3's through YouSendIt or an equivalent bulk uploader. Send us an email if you intend to do this method and we will respond with the email to use.
EMAIL
If you can't seem to get any of those to work above, you can email us your album. However, we really do request that you attempt the other methods above so you don't blow up our emails with 30 songs because you have a stupendous double album we have got to hear.
NO MYSPACE
We do not accept MySpace submissions. I know MySpace is still big for bands because it is a cheap alternative for a website, but our computers hate MySpace. Do not send us a link to your MySpace and ask us to review your music on there.
If you do send us your music to review, we need the following things in order to create a review for you.
1. Album artwork
2. Band approved photo - no child porn please
3. Tracklisting
4. Websites of your band (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Tumblr, etc)
5. Places where readers can find your music (iTunes, Amazon, etc)
